SUMMARY

In this paper we describe our experience with ten patients (eleven eyes) submitted to optic nerve sheath decompression. Five had pseudotumor cerebri syndrome, four the progressive fonn of anterior isquemic optic neuropathy and one had Morning Glory anomaly associated with retinal detachment. We describe the surgical technique utilized in these patients, its main indications as well as the complications of this procedure.
