Maculopatia estrelada associada à tuberculose sistêmica ativa: relato de caso e revisão da literatura

SUMMARY

Stellate maculopathy is an ocular finding which is characterized by macular exdudates in star formation and by loss of central vision. There is a primary form - Leber's Idiopathic Stellate Maculopathy - whose etiology is unknown. The secondary form, however, is much more frequent and is often associated with traumatic injuries, infections, poisoning or other ocular affections. We present a typical macular star associated with active tuberculosis located in the right kidney. Improvement was obtained after treatment with anti tuberculous drugs and systemic corticosteroid.
