Sinais e sintomas do tracoma em povoado do Estado da Bahia - Brasil

SUMMARY

A follicular trochoma symptoms and signs frequency survey was carried out in Poço Redondo village, State of Bahia, where the total trachoma prevalence was 47.04%. The data was compared to the cicatricial trachoma cases and to the inhabitants without trachoma of the village.

Preauricular lymphadenopathy was the sign and itching the symptom most frequent in follicular trachoma cases. Trochoma in this village was presented as non-blinding disease.
